But, What About the Children???

Seen yesterday in the Kohl's parking lot in Salem, New Hampshire, another proud Massachusetts Democrat depriving the poor, starving children of the Commonwealth of their much-needed sales tax revenue.

And, needless to say, Massachusetts license plates could be found in abundance throughout the area's many retail shopping venues, while their owners were doing their share in keeping New Hampshire's retail job market afloat.

Thank you, Massachusetts General Court!

And, thank you, Deval Patrick, for forcing your own voter base into New Hampshire to spend their hard-earned dollars outside your "progressive" workers' paradise.

Obamacarefraud: A Sneak Preview

Watch CBS News Videos Online

Any member of Congress who votes to expand government-run health care to cover more than 300 million people, opening up a new channel for this kind of criminal activity to continue to fleece the American taxpayer at never-before seen levels, needs to be removed from office as soon as humanly possible.

Exit question:

What's more shocking, the level of fraud being exposed in this report, or the fact that CBS News had to commit an act of journalism to produce it?

It's Shocking, I Tell You!

It's imply shocking that someone with Mitt Romney's rock-solid convictions and non-wavering spinal fortitude would pass on taking a stand one way or the other on the NY-23 race.

Oh Yeah, By the Way...

Yeah, G.F.L. With That

People will need to turn vegetarian if the world is to conquer climate change, according to a leading authority on global warming.

In an interview with The Times, Lord Stern of Brentford said: “Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world’s resources. A vegetarian diet is better.”

Smelling the Coffee

RCP: Irate and Independent

A poll of opinion polls shows Americans' attitudes are changing rapidly.

They are less and less thrilled about the country's direction and Congress, according to Tom Bevan, executive editor of national polling aggregator RealClearPolitics. He says independent voters are shifting away from the polices of the Obama administration and Democrats.

Gee, maybe it has something to do with the American people waking up to the realization that all the words that came out of Obama's mouth during the presidential campaign have proven themselves to be little more than vaporous clouds of nothingness, designed solely to get people's votes by telling them what they want to hear, veracity be damned.

What He Said

Peter Wehner (via Instapundit):

The Obama White House is showing a fondness for intimidation tactics that might work well in the wards of Chicago but that don't have a place in the most important and revered political institution in America. To see these impulses manifest themselves so early in Obama's presidency, and given all that he has said to the contrary, is rather startling. The danger is that as the pressures mount and the battles accrue and the political heat intensifies, these impulses will grow stronger, the constraints on them will grow weaker, and the voices of caution and reason will continue to be ignored. If that should come to pass -- if what we are seeing now is only a preview of coming attractions -- then the Obama administration, and this nation, will pay a very high price. Mark my words.

Consider them marked.

Gotta Shift Gears For a While

I'll be getting more into some local matters over the next week or so. If I keep blogging about Dr. Obama's American Enema policy, I'll end up perforating my laptop.

I've got to get to this "Tax Summit" our legislative leaders (for lack of a better word) held in Concord this week, where they invited people with no stake in New Hampshire's future - but a very tangible connection to George Soros and the Tides Foundation - to make "recommendations" about how we can "improve" New Hampshire's tax structure.

It's looking more and more like I was (put on shocked face here) right.

What the Democrats are trying to do is take control of people’s tax dollars away from the taxpayers at the local level, where such control belongs, and funnel it upward to a centralized system of taxation and spending.

Currently, the bulk of New Hampshire residents’ tax burden comes from local property taxes, and is controlled at the local level where residents have control over how much they’re taxed and how those tax dollars are allocated.

When taxation and spending are controlled at the local level, it’s the people who are in charge of their money and their communities. When that power and control are shifted upward to a centralized state government, and away from the cities and towns in the state, the damage caused is twofold.

Not only will it result in a loss of economic freedom for the taxpayers, but it would open the floodgates for outside lobbyists, corporate special interest groups, and labor unions looking to set up shop in New Hampshire and corrupt our state government in exactly the same way they have all across the country, most notably in our neighboring state to the south.

Here's one of Dave Ridley's Ridely Report videos on the matter.

Scozzafail

Epic.

The Flushing of America Continues

Using the force of law to require every American citizen to purchase a product that will enrich the bottom line of the companies who donated the most to the politicians who wrote the law.

What's not to love?

(CNSNews.com) – House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said that the individual health insurance mandates included in every health reform bill, which require Americans to have insurance, were "like paying taxes." He added that Congress has "broad authority" to force Americans to purchase other things as well, so long as it was trying to promote “the general welfare.”

I'm going to exercise my "broad authority" to purchase more ammo in about three minutes.

Seriously, why even have a Constitution if the party in power in Washington is going to say it allows them to do whatever the f*** they want?

Hoyer can go [censored - use your imagination] for all I care.

I'm reminded of this scene from Woody Allen's "Bananas".

Esposito: From this day on, the official language of San Marcos will be Swedish. Silence! In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check. Furthermore, all children under 16 years old are now... 16 years old!

Exit Question:

How is using the threat of arrest, prosecution, and incarceration to force a person to buy a product they don't want any different from forcing people to wear their underwear outside their clothes, or (to use a real-life example of equal fascistic measure) requiring people to wear pants that conform to the government-approved cuff width - one of Chairman Mao's contributions to the Statist World of Hopenchange?

My Seven-Year-Olds Aren't This Childish

Seriously, WTF?

Republicans Feel Locked Out Again — Literally This Time

House Republicans have complained all year that Democrats have locked them out of the legislative process.

On Tuesday, those complaints took a turn from figurative to literal.

A spokesman for House Oversight and Government Reform ranking member Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Democrats changed the lock on the door from the GOP’s meeting room to the main committee chamber, and informed Republicans that Democrats would retain the only set of keys.

Republicans say the move was retaliation for a behind-the-scenes video they shot that showed committee Democrats leaving their meeting room through a back door 30 minutes after they canceled a hearing that the majority said conflicted with Members’ schedules.

Allow me to translate:

You caught us on tape being the corrupt, lowlife chickenshits that we are, so we're going to lock you in a room to prevent it from happening again.

Nah nah-nah goo-goo.

May God give us the strength to make it through the 2010 elections peaceably and without a shot fired.

Gun Control

Because the right of a hardened criminal to break into the home of, and terrorize, beat, rob, and/or kill an elderly couple in their bed is more sacrosanct than the right of the homeowners to prevent him from doing so.

BREWTON -- An 81-year-old man shot and killed a masked gunman during a home invasion early this morning at a residence north of Brewton, Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said.

The sheriff said the robber had been released from a Nebraska jail just two days before he was killed.

Smith declined to identify the homeowner, but said the man and his wife were in bed in their home along U.S. 31 north of town about 3 a.m. when the intruder kicked in the door to the home and entered their bedroom, demanding money.

Smith said the homeowner managed to retrieve a pistol from the bedside table and pointed it at the robber, who told the homeowner to drop the weapon.

Instead, Smith said, the homeowner fired the gun, striking the intruder in the forehead, killing him instantly.

Well done, Gramps!

Gotta love those happy endings, especially when they come with bonus material such as this.

"The man was in his home, in bed with his wife, and he acted in self-defense," Smith said. "And as far as the wife, she had armed herself with a shotgun by the time I got there."

Yep, she's a keeper.

Personal doctors on call 24/7. Coverage that knows no caps. No exemptions for pre-existing conditions.

Those are the sorts of benefits members of Congress currently enjoy on the taxpayer’s dime, and the kinds of benefits Americans on a government-run public health care plan will never see if Obamacare passes.

[...]

Members of Congress can choose from five different plans, and have access to both the VIP Bethesda Naval Hospital and a reserved spot Ward 72 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, an elite division usually reserved for military members. Their everyday medical concerns can be taken care of at a doctors office located inside of Congress.

Their premiums are the same as those of insurance plans with half the benefits, and the plans last a lifetime; not until Medicare kicks in do ex-Members or loose their Congressional health benefits. Congress has repeatedly voted down any provision that would switch their insurance plans to the lower-grade public option if Obamacare goes through.

But, of course!

The United States should reinstate a Clinton-era ban on assault weapons to prevent such guns from reaching Mexican drug cartels, former officials from both countries said in a report released Tuesday.

Because organizations that generate billions of billions of dollars through the trafficking of illegal contraband would be unable to get their hands on any damn guns they want if the United States were to ban civilian possession of semi-automatic rifles.

Going Rogue, Romney-Style

Wall Street Journal:

Sarah Palin fans can expect to see a new Palin political organization surface as her memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” hits the shelves next month.

“There will be an announcement about it coming up,” Palin associate Tim Crawford said Wednesday.

The New York Post reported this week that Palin’s new group will be called “Stand Up For Our Nation.” (News Corp. owns both the Post and The Wall Street Journal as well as HarperCollins Publishers, publisher of Palin’s book.) Crawford, who is treasurer of Palin’s existing political-action committee, SarahPAC, refused to provide any details about the new organization’s purpose or structure.

Within hours of hearing this news, a spokesperson for Mitt Romney announced that the former Massachusetts governor will be starting a new political organization called "Stand Up For Unconstitutional Health Care Mandates and Gun Control Laws".

Can't Spell "Pulitzer" Without P-U-T-Z

Wow.

One reason for the decline of newspaper circulation is that 42 million Americans are illiterate and roughly 50 million more are semi-literate, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Christopher Hedges says.

So, if you prefer to get your news on the internet, as opposed to walking out in the rain in the morning to pick up a soggy newspaper full of yesterday's headlines, its cuz yer awl liek illiturit n' stuf.

In other news, sales of 8-track tapes in the United States dropped like a rock in the early 80's, because that's right about the time the American people stopped listening to music.

Newspaper readership has also fallen off because “we have a large, sustained, well-funded set of people out there who attack honest reporting” and who have created “a belief that the news is not to be trusted,” adds David Cay Johnston, like Hedges a former New York Times reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner.

Oh, where to begin?

"Honest reporting" such as Dan Rather's forged TANG memos?

Or ABC's editing of Sarah Palin's interview responses in mid-sentence to change the meaning of her answers?

Or Charlie Gibson's dreary reporting of unemployment numbers in the early 80's, compared to his upbeat and optimistic coverage of today's joblessness levels?

Or MSNBC's racist black man with a gun video edit?

Or CNN's now-infamous "assault weapons vs. cinder block" demonstration?

Or (fill in MSM outlet of your choice here)'s decision to run countless pre-debunked anti-Palin smearjobs?

Or...

(I'll let my readers fill out the rest of the list.)

If one conclusion can be drawn from that article, it's that Nobel Peace Prizes and Pulitzers are both being handed out like Halloween candy these, only without the integrity and high standards.

UPDATE: Case in point (to be filed under "You can't make this shit up!").

ABC News: Taliban, al Qaeda Helped by Warming

The show narrative must go on!

"If you oppose Cap & trade, you want the terrorists to win."

And, some people wonder why Americans are, as a whole, spending more on guns and ammunition and less on newspaper subscriptions.

Think You Can Outrun a Zombie?

Think again. They're learning how to drive!

UPDATE: But, of course.

Lets Review

He cut funding to the DC charter schools programming, forcing hundreds of poor, minority children into run-down, violence-ridden public schools in order to placate the teachers' unions.

He's pushing through a massive socialistic health care plan that will ruin the private insurance industry in this country.

He wants to levy a massive energy tax on all Americans so he can enrich his friends through a massive carbon credit trading scheme.

He's restoring funding to ACORN (and giving them money intended for homeland security) to their criminal enterprise afloat.

He cut off funding to a human right watchdog organization in Iran to provide cover for a regime that hangs homosexuals and sentence pro-democracy demonstrators to death (when they're not busy gunning them down in the streets).

He's in the process of ceding a big chunk of Afghanistan over to the Taliban so they can once again have a place to call their own where they can beat the living daylights out of women in the streets.

So, this only seems like the next logical step.

(I'm sure my readers will let me know which major bullet points I missed.)

Rush Lyrics for the Age of Obama

A Farewell To Kings
lyrics by Neil Peart

When they turn the pages of history
When these days have passed long ago
Will they read of us with sadness
For the seeds that we let grow?
We turned our gaze
From the castles in the distance
Eyes cast down
On the path of least resistance

Cities full of hatred, fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and
Scoffing at the wise

The hypocrites are slandering
The sacred Halls of Truth
Ancient nobles showering
Their bitterness on youth
Can't we find the minds that made us strong?
Can't we learn to feel what's right
And what's wrong?
What's wrong?

Cities full of hatred, fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and
Scoffing at the wise
Can't we raise our eyes and make a start?
Can't we find the minds to lead us
Closer to the heart?

UPDATE: Bonus track, featuring 80's Mullet Geddy.

Obama's amateurish handling of Afghanistan should come as no surprise. This is what happens when we elect a man with zero executive experience to the highest office in the land. He has never run a Kool-Aid stand, much less a business or any level of government.

His entire presidential campaign (not to mention the first ten and a half months of his presidency) was one giant, rolling Kool-Aid stand, which ended up serving tens of millions.

Words Fail Me

I'm trying to come up with an accurate descriptive term for the pieces of trash responsible for this, but I can't quantify this much sick, warped, and twisted evil using the English language.

Four arrested in brutal murder of NH mom

MILFORD – Four teenagers were arraigned this morning, two days after the brutal murder of a Mont Vernon mother and a vicious attack on her 11-year-old daughter. Two of the defendants face first degree murder charges.

According to Senior Assistant Attorney General William Delker, the four chose the family's home at random because it was in an isolated area. He said the intruders entered at or shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday, planning to kill anyone found in the house.

Delker said Kimberly Cates was murdered in her bed. Steven Spader allegedly attacked both Mrs. Cates and her daughter with a machete; Christopher Gribble is believed to have used a knife on the mother.

And, I still get comments from people telling me I'm a paranoid whackjob for keeping a loaded gun easily accessible at all times in my house.

FWIW, hanging's still legal here.

Choices and Change

This one ties in nicely to my previous post, taking the "fork in the road" analogy and applying it to factions within the national Republican Party.

John Browne: Palin vs. the GOP establishment

In this ideological battle of "The People vs. The Statists", the right choice could not be more clear.

Countdown to 2010: What’s at stake?

Here’s a scenario for you to ponder.

You’re the head of an average household in New Hampshire, working hard in these troubling economic times to provide your family with life’s bare essentials.

You’re living paycheck to paycheck, but you’re making it. Your wife and kids are healthy. You’ve got food on the table and a roof over your heads.

Then, one day, you wake up and decide you need a new speedboat, a home theater system, and a tropical vacation. So, you head out with your credit card and blow through your credit limit in one afternoon. The boat looks great sitting in your driveway. Movie night at home is now a weekly tradition. And, the whole family is tanned and relaxed.

You’re happy…or so you think.

Then, the bills come due.

You’ve now racked up a seemingly insurmountable pile of debt, spending money you didn’t have. Creditors are calling. You need to pay off that credit card fast, or suffer for years to come with a tarnished credit rating.

Acting out of fear and desperation, one morning, you wait until your next-door neighbor goes to work, jimmy open a window by his back deck, make your way upstairs and empty out his wife’s jewelry box.

At the local pawn shop, the clerk becomes suspicious, calls the police, and you are arrested and charged with breaking and entering, burglary during the daytime, and possession of stolen property.

You are now looking at a possible felony conviction on your record and five to seven years in prison.

It’s too bad you’re not a Democrat state legislator in Concord.

You see, when they spend beyond their means, rack up a mountain of debt, and then force you and your neighbors to pay for their recklessness it’s called “being a good, progressive Democrat”.

The Democrats in Concord have increased state spending by more than 25% over the last two years, while introducing or increasing dozens of taxes and fees forcing the taxpayers to pay for their fiscal malfeasance. I have yet to meet anyone in New Hampshire whose household spending has increased by the same margin since the Democrats took majority control in January of 2007.

Well, they’re still coming up short on their balance sheet, and it comes as no surprise to those of us who have been paying attention that the Democrats are entertaining the notion (once again) of enacting a statewide income or sales tax.

The prospect of such a tax becoming reality here in New Hampshire illustrates, better than anything, the fork in the road ahead and the perils that await us if we, the voters in this state, make the wrong choices over the next 13 months.

This goes way beyond being a simple matter of bringing revenue to the state coffers to close this so-called “budget crisis”. This goes way beyond merely increasing the tax burden of New Hampshire residents to cover up reckless spending going on in Concord.

This is about the irreversible, and wholly intentional, restructuring of our system of state government.

The Democrats would like nothing better than to take our current system of state government and turn it on its head. Of course, if they were to accomplish that, the next step would be to do away with our voluntary legislature and call for full time salaries for state lawmakers – with full benefits, expense accounts and pensions, of course. After all, it would be a lot of work to distribute all this new found “wealth”.

I moved up to New Hampshire from Massachusetts in December of 2006 for the sole purpose of getting away from such a top-heavy, inefficient, and over-bloated state government. It’s time the voters in New Hampshire are made aware of what’s really going on in the State Capitol Building these days. The path we’re currently on is unsustainable and, if left unchecked, will lead us to economic ruin.

It’s time for the Republican Party in New Hampshire to step up to the plate and say “Enough is enough!”.

It’s time for the Republican Party to once again stand proud as the party of limited government, common sense, and respect for personal and economic freedom.

It’s time we band together and pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and do what’s needed right now, and in the months and years to come, to preserve our unique New Hampshire way of life.

It’s time to choose.

Must-See Video of the Day

I don't care who you are. That's funny, right there.

Ten Pounds of Win...

...in a five-pound bag.

Farmer's daughter disarms terrorist and shoots him dead with AK47

His daughter was hiding under a bed when she heard him crying as the gunmen thrashed him with sticks. According to police, she ran towards her father’s attacker and struck him with an axe. As he collapsed, she snatched his AK47 and shot him dead.

'Nuff said.
