A 10-month-old boy from New Bedford has died and prosecutors say he was a victim of shaken baby syndrome. His mother's boyfriend is now charged in the attack.

28-year-old Manuel Lopez was arraigned Tuesday morning on assault and battery charges in New Bedford District Court. Police say the charges are expected to be upgraded as a result of the child’s death.
