NRA Decal: Theft Deterrent or Attractant?

From Fox25 - Boston: Theft-proof your home

Robert Siciliano is a Boston Based Security Expert and says to catch a thief, you have to think like a thief.

“All criminals absolutely are looking for the path of least resistance. They are looking for people that aren’t paying attention, and they are looking for homes that aren’t effectively and properly secured,” says Siciliano.

An alert dog is a bonus. Complete with signage. And this NRA sticker doesn't hurt either.

“Having an NRA sticker gives the impression that Granny’s inside in a rocking chair with a shot gun waiting to attack,” explains Siciliano.

It could also give the impression that there's a gun collection inside just waiting to be stolen the next time the owner's out of town. As far as decals go, I'd be more inclined to go with a security system warning. Or leave a large (preferably blood-stained) dog bowl out on the back deck.

What do the world's most intellectually advanced blog readers have to say on this?
