How Far We've Fallen

To disagree is normal. To debate is healthy. To speak one's mind freely is a cherished right. But to slander anyone and everyone who disagrees with you as a racist, for the purposes of shutting down the conversation and rendering real debate impossible, is to admit to your own moral bankruptcy and intellectual failings.

Roughly translated: Jimmy Carter, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, and their footsoldiers in the national media can all go piss up a rope.

By crying "RACISM!!!" at every opportunity, these people demeaning the legacy of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., and all who stood up and fought, some giving their lives, to beat back the tides of real racial hatred and division in this country.

And, yes, I'm putting our president on that "rope pissing" list as well. He hasn't said word one about this despicable and disgraceful campaign of race baiting and slander that has reached a fever pitch.

I knew full well that as of January 2009, all dissenting opinion and criticism of this president and his policies would be labeled as racist hate speech, but the levels to which it has risen simply disgust me, and should disgust anyone with the capacity for rational thought.
