Rhetorical Question of the Day

What if George Bush had done this?

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Hey, this guy might be an immensely qualified nominee, more than deserving of a place on the bench. But, the timing of this smells worse than burnt hair.

I'm sure we'll be told by our intellectual betters in the press that the timing is purely coincidental.

Monkeys, wings, my backside - some assembly required.

UPDATE: I added in the comments...

It's almost as if he thinks Dan Rather and his ilk are still the gatekeepers to the information highway, controlling what the American people get to see and hear.

"I know, I'll give his brother a judgeship. Who's gonna find out?"

Incompogance*, nuclear launch codes, and an strictlyly Marxist upbringing are a dangerous mix. We can only hope this ends well.

* incompetence + arrogance
