Thar She Blows!
I was walking around the woods behind the house the other day, in the aftermath of the windstorm, to see how many trees we lost. This top section of a pine tree had blown down not too far from the girls' treehouse.

And with my hand in the shot for the obligatory "for scale" pic.

Looking up, I couldn't see any trees with their tops missing. Kept looking around until I finally found where it had come from.

It's hard to capture in the pic just how far the top of this tree had been blown away from its trunk, so I grabbed my trusty Bosch rangefinder (this thing kicks ass!) and measured from the broken end back to the base of the trunk.

Yeah, it was a little windy.
