Reason #481 to loathe CNN

More "sensitive" reporting on the terrorist activities in Russia, this time from CNN. If this is one phase of Kerry's "sensitive war on terror", I'll pass, thanks.

BESLAN, Russia (CNN) -- Hundreds of people held hostage at a school in southern Russia fled to safety Friday, but scores are reported dead as pitched battles continue between troops and hostage-takers.

Hostage takers? And if a guy shoots a bunch of kids while robbing a convenience store, what does that make him? a money-taker? Give me a break. These people (and I'm being very generous bestowing human qualities on them like that) are TERRORISTS. End of discussion. They use small children for shields, then shoot them in the back when things don't go down according to their deranged plan.

But, NOOOO...we don't want to portray these people as terrorists, that would only underscore the threat the world is facing from these animals (apologies to animals). And that might make George Bush look like a strong candidate by validating the "Bush Doctrine" of pre-emption as a useful means of ridding the world of this scum. And we certainly can't allow THAT to happen.

Here's the summary of the terms used in this article by CNN to describe these vermin:

Hostage Takers - 7 times
Rebels - 5 times
Militants - 3 times
Abductors - once

The only time they dared to use the word "terrorist", they made sure to put it in quotation marks AND use the word "quoted" alongside it. I guess that by attributing the use of the word to others, and over-emphasizing that fact, CNN won't need to worry about directly offending these nice people.

Interfax quoted a Defense official as saying that "the terrorists planted a lot of mines and booby-traps filled with metal bolts in the gym" where hostages were held.

Well, isn't that just charming? Nothing garners support for your "rebel" cause like metal bolts tearing through the flesh of children.

Kill 'em all. Now.
