OK, I'm trying to get actual work done today, but I can't let such an exemplary MGCSS like this go unblogged.
Pregnant Deerfield woman found slain at gas station
News reports from earlier today indicate that this woman was found strangled to death and the cash register from the gas station was missing.
So here we have an unarmed pregnant woman against a violent attacker with no regard for the law nor any moral reservations, whatsoever, against strangling a defenseless woman to death - killing her unborn child in the process - for a fistful of cash. Guess which one walks out of the room and lives to see another day.
State Senator Barrios and the folks over at Stop Handgun Violence send their condolences. I guess that when they tell us restricting the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens will be worth it if it saves just ONE life, they're referring to the life of the animal who murdered Ms. Waryasz and her unborn baby.
No more argument. No more compromise. These people are absolutely, certifiably fucking insane.

Deerfield's first murder victim in three decades was 6 1/2 months pregnant, a relative said, as investigators declined to reveal the cause of her death pending completion of an autopsy.
"This is all too shocking to me. I kind of don't believe it," Charlene Waryasz said of her 21-year-old half-sister, Brandy, who was found slain Saturday at the Deerfield Sunoco where she worked.
