Mumble-Logic

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino (11/2/05):

"Guns don't belong on the streets of our city or any city," he said. "Boston is one of the safest cities in the country, but we can make it safer."

And, once again, just minutes ago, Boston's violent criminal element was kind enough to provide us with a valuable sneak-peek into the future of Mayor Menino's gun-free fantasy land.

65 Year-Old Woman Stabbed Near Symphony Hall

Police are searching for the man who stabbed an elderly woman inside a Boston apartment building Friday afternoon.

The stabbing took place at the woman's residence, the sixth floor of the Symphony Plaza Apartments at 334 Mass. Ave., Boston police said.

The victim is being treated at Boston Medical Center, where she's listed in critical condition.

Police are searching for the suspect, who is being described as a man who is 5'8" with dreadlocks.

You know, we could end violent crime against the city's elderly today if we really wanted to. It would actually be quite easy to accomplish.

Ban old people.

Someone get me the Mayor's phone number. Surely, he'll appreciate this "common-sense" crime-fighting measure.

UPDATE: Two things.

1. The victim died tonight from the injuries suffered at the hands of this dirtbag (Channel 4 News link above updated as well). Now, who can tell me why she was targeted to be the latest homicide victim in the Menino Citizen Disarmament Zone? No bonus points - I just gave you the answer.

Her killer knew she would be unable to resist.

Criminals, apparently, don't enjoy getting shot at or beaten as they go about their business. Who knew?

Now, for 50 bonus points, who can tell me why Mayor Menino, the alleged defender of women's rights, has worked so tirelessly to empower those who wouldseek to rape, beat, stab, or shoot defenseless women in their own homes?

2. Lesser side note: she was only 65 years old for crying out loud.

What will it take for the news media to stop portraying all people over the age of 60 as feeble, elderly invalids with no physical or mental faculties to call their own.
