Mystery Object of the Day

I was out with the girls earlier today taking a "nature walk" as part of their homework, collecting all kinds of plants and bark and other exciting nature stuff, and stumbled onto this. Of course, the girls thought it was pretty cool, what with it being "ancient treasure" and all.



Any guesses?

The curved part is (or was) definitely a blade. I'm going with something in the not-so-exciting "household" or "kitchen utensil" category, as opposed to the considerably more exciting "medieval decapitation devices" category.
