Pre-Emptive Douchebaggery

Remember a few years back how it was all "the Republicans' fault" that the legislation proposed (by Republicans) to tighten up regulations on the runaway mortgage industry died in committee?

After all, the GOP had the majority in Congress? If they couldn't get that bill to the President's desk, it only makes sense, as the Democrats insisted, to hang the blame on the shoulders of the Republicans, right?

Now, fast forward to last Thursday:

As the $820 billion stimulus package heads to the upper chamber, Senate Democratic leaders are launching a pre-emptive strike.

In a Thursday afternoon news conference, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid urged Senate Republicans not to line up against the bill, and says Republicans will be blamed for any delay in the landmark economic legislation.

“If we don’t [pass the bill], it’s not our fault, we’re trying,” Reid said. “The president has done a remarkable job covering all the bases on Capitol Hill.”

With all due respect, Senator (and I mean that in the most literal terms imaginable), go hump a tree, you spineless ballsack.

Your party alone drafted this trillion-dollar, left-wing special interest, slush fund of a bill, after blocking the GOP out of the amendment process.

Your party controls the Senate.

Your party controls the House of Representatives.

Your party has the White House.

Your party owns the "American Bankruptcy Act of 2009".

Man up.

Deal with it.

And, don't expect any Republican worth his or her weight in snot to go along for the ride and give you the political cover you so desperately crave right now, thinking it will save your bony ass once this crapfest goes south.
