Asshole

Thanks a million. Have fun in prison, asshole. See you in ten to twenty.

UPDATE: The Boston Herald brings us this updated bit of information today:

Green had a gun license and a prior record, which Brown described only as "nothing major." Police also said they took a shotgun from his house. State Registry of Motor Vehicles records list only two summonses under his name: one for speeding in 1983, the other for failing to stop in 1988.

From the Gun Owners' Action League FAQ page outlining the "Reasons For Denial Of a License To Carry Firearms...", the following conditions are listed as reasons for permanent disqualification from possessing a handgun in Massachusetts:

- Felony conviction as adult

- Conviction under any law regulating the use, possession or sale of controlled substances as defined in section 1 of Chapter 94C

- Felony conviction as juvenile

- Conviction of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for more than two years (includes convictions for OUI after July 1994)

- Conviction of a "Violent Crime"

- Conviction under any law regulating use, possession, ownership, transfer, purchase, sale, lease, rental, receipt or transportation of weapons or ammunition for which imprisonment may be imposed

I'm quite curious to see what they consider to be "nothing major" in Green's record. As we are all too aware of, it doesn't take anything "major" to be denied a license to carry a firearm in the Commonwealth.
