Just Wondering

If I change my voter registration enrollment to become a Democrat, will I be able to call African-Americans "Negroes" with the blessing and the approval of Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, and the Congressional Black Caucus, or is that only OK for real, "progressive" Democrats?
