Reality Disconnect - Aisle Six!

Here's the latest "progressive" crime-fighting initiative to emanate from the halls of the State House.

BOSTON -- The Legislature's Public Safety Committee is expected to call Tuesday for more state help in combatting gang violence across Massachusetts.

The Boston Globe reported that the lawmakers are recommending a boost of at least $4 million in community policing grants, which amounted to $20 million last year, to help put more officers on the street.

The committee's report, to be released at a news conference Tuesday, also recommends more spending for prevention programs and tougher measures to crack down on gun trafficking and witness intimidation.

More spending? Being proposed on Beacon Hill? I'm shocked.

"We want to be tough on crime, but we also want to be tough on the causes of crime," said Sen. Jarrett T. Barrios, D-Cambridge, co-chairman of the committee said. "We've lost our way and lost our focus on preventing youth violence."

He said he hopes to work with the Romney administration to find the money for the proposals. The House chairman of the committee, Rep. Timothy J. Toomey Jr., D-Cambridge, said one possibility is to increase licensing fees on firearm identification cards and gun purchases.

OK now, my parents always told me that if you can't something nice, don't say anything at all.

Oh for Christ's sake! I can't take it anymore! Where to begin?

This is right up there on the "Shit That Makes Sense" Scale with trying to raise money to fight insurance fraud by taxing all purchases of canned asparagus and drywall screws. One thing is certain, however, Representative Assbiscuit's constituents in Cambridge will think this is just a wonderful idea. After all, they don't have guns.

And, of course, it's for the "common good".

Memo to Barrios, Toomey, et al: You idiots want to be "tough on the causes of crime", but your proposed "solution" here will do very little but increase the already exorbitant financial burden on the most law-abiding citizens in the Commonwealth.

Who exactly are you trying to punish here? Like I have to ask.

Please feel free to hang this ignorant, pansy-assed, liberal piece of shit from a lamppost by his balls e-mail the honorable state representative and tell him how you feel about his thoughts (or lack thereof) on the subject.
