Double Murder in Wakefield

Via Channel 4 (CBS) in Boston:

Two People Found Murdered At Wakefield Business

(CBS4) WAKEFIELD Two bodies were found at the Allstate Concrete Pumping company in Wakefield Monday morning.

The Middlesex District Attorney and Wakefield police say it appears to be a double homicide.

Authorities say the victims are a 39-year-old man and a 51-year-old man. Their names have not been released. Investigators are not saying anything else about the case at this point.

The company is located at 17 New Salem Street in Wakefield.

According to the Blue Book of Building and Construction, Allstate Concrete Pumping has done work on the Big Dig.

Stay tuned for the first of many Mucko McDermott references by the local news media, coming up in 10...9...8...

UPDATE: The Boston Globe strikes first.

Police Chief Rick Smith said this was the first homicide in Wakefield since 2000, when Michael "Mucko" McDermott killed seven co-workers at a software company the day after Christmas.

UPDATE: The Boston Herald pulled the same AP story off the wire.

That's two.

UPDATE (3/14/06): Everyone seems to be running with the same AP wire stories on this one. Yet, no one's invoked the double-drink rule by mentioning his evil, scary-looking "assault weapon".

What I find more surprising is that none of the TV news stations or papers in the area has taken this opportunity to run a photo of Hagrid Mucko for their readers who might not be familiar with the case.

Guilty, your honor.
