Victim Times Two

From cbs4boston.com:

A reliable law-enforcement source tells CBS4 a neighbor of Winifred Moniz was arrested on drug charges Tuesday night by Falmouth police investigating the elderly woman's murder.

The 73-year-old Moniz was found stabbed to death in her home on John Parker Road Monday morning. CBS4 has learned Moniz was stabbed several times in the upper torso and neck. She also had defensive stab wounds on her hands.

[The Cape Cod Times] also reports that several guns were removed from the Moniz home...

Isn't that nice? Lose your wife to a knife-wielding murderer, and have your guns confiscated by the authorities as a consolation prize.

Welcome to Massachusetts: Please check your freedoms with the nice officer at the front gate.

...but investigators wouldn't say if the guns had anything to do with the case.

Unless, she was stabbed with a bayonet affixed to one of those guns, I'd say not.

Money quote:

[Michael O'Keefe, the district attorney for Cape Cod] said the public should not be alarmed that someone is wandering the streets, attacking people.

Relax, people. It's just a guy "wandering the streets, attacking people". No cause for alarm.
