Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid

It was scary back in January.

It's scary^2 today.

But privately, [John Edwards] he told aides that he would consider the role of vice president, and favored the position of attorney general, which would appeal to his experience of decades spent in courtrooms as a trial lawyer in North Carolina...

I don't think so, asshole.

I mean, we are talking about the guy who thinks taxpayer-funded entitlements and handouts are inalienable rights, and that the ability to purchase a handgun is a privilege to be doled out by politicians, such as himself, to the "chosen ones".

Also, how fast do you think President Obama would sign this crap into law?

(30) The term `semiautomatic assault weapon' means any of the following:

[snip]

(L) A semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General. In making the determination, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any Federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.

Last up, you know I can't resist making fun of the truly idiotic. From the YouTube comments on the video linked above (and here):

The Bill of Rights is a list of STATES' rights, not necessarily individuals' rights. Read John's position on his website, you'll see he supports legal gun ownership. Just FYI, the US Supreme Court just agreed to hear a case on the right to bear arms--whether the right is for individuals or state militias. John is a big advocate of individuals' rights.

Not smarter than your average bear.
