Who: Boston area bloggers of all socio-political persuasions
What: Drinking and singing (Discussions of a political nature will be discouraged, hence the title of the event)
Why: Mostly because we're thirsty (and have little shame when it comes to making fools of ourselves in public)
Where: Jacob Wirth's, 31-37 Stuart Street, between Tremont and Washington Streets in Boston's Theater District.
When: Tentatively scheduled for Friday the 13th (October), 2006 - 8:00PM to midnight
RSVP to Bruce at massbackwards[at]comcast[dot]net or in the comments to this post. I'll need to know who's coming, so I can reserve the primo seating next to the piano. Reserved seating will most likely be limited to the first 12 people to respond (2 tables). Of course, you could always squeeze in a chair or two or sit at the bar (closer to the beer taps, eh?).

There's a party at Jake Wirth's bar lounge every Friday night.
If you're a sing-along fan – as a vocalist, a hummer, or just a listener, you'll have a great time as pianist Mel Stiller does his thing from 8pm until midnight. It's been a Boston tradition since 1988.
Eat, drink and be merry as you sing along to your favorites. No problem if you don't know the words. You'll get a free songbook with lyrics to more than 500 songs.
The emphasis in on rock/oldies from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, with plenty of show tunes and standards, too. Stop by and see why so many people have said that Friday night at Jake's is the most fun they've had in Boston.
Of course, there are also all kinds of domestic and imported beers on draft, and Jake's dinner menu to enjoy.
